Intrigued with the idea of writing with a feather like people did for centuries? Discover how sensitively a quill dipped in ink can convey your words. Properly prepared feathers require skill to correctly cut a point. As part of your supplies, you will receive a goose quill from historic Williamsburg. Bring a lengthy message or quote to copy in class, along with your very smooth lined writing paper and ink. More adventuresome? Bring parchment or even vellum for your advanced project such as a pirate treasure map. Instructor will give an overview of quills, demonstrate basic writing techniques and correction methods. Your individual handwriting will be the main lettering style. Some additional items will be provided for you to use during class. Open to teens and adults.Speaker: Carol Savage
